Twelve seniors marched into their own futures on Sunday, May 22, during the 107th graduation ceremony from a North Dakota academy. Starting Friday, May 20, with Consecration and ending Sunday afternoon with a reception in the cafeteria, for the graduates, the weekend was a blur of family and friends, tassels and robes, and guest speakers and music. Performing several times during the weekend, the student-produced Praise Band led song services, and the special musics peppered throughout the weekend showcased the talented senior class. Guest speakers, Lunelle Bertresse, Larry Priest, Loren Nelson, and Mike Temple, provided great advice and direction for the graduates, drawing from personal experiences to remind the class to remain close to their aim. The class generously gave four different class gifts back to the Academy, including finishing the AV system project on the coach bus and a new bell system on campus.

Once Sunday morning rolled around, the seniors were ready to become college freshman and start the next chapter. During Commencement, Union College recruiter, Kevin Erickson, was on hand to pass out some very large scholarships to many of the seniors. Diplomas were handed out by Leonard Quaile and Neil Biloff, then the twelve graduates were officially alumni of DAA. While it is always hard to say good-bye, we know that this blessed group of youth will go far in life with God's blessings. Congratulations, Class of 2011!
