Homeshow Weekend at DAA Brings Spiritual High

One of the school year highlights for both students and parents is the annual Homeshow Weekend at Dakota Adventist Academy.  The students are excited to share the many talents they have learned over the course of the year, and parents are happy to see them in action.  This year, a special blessing awaited the DAA family.  Surrounded by family and friends, Derek Keller, a senior at DAA, expressed his commitment to Christ by being baptized Sabbath morning!  (Look for Derek's testimony soon on DAA's website)  Derek's  baptism inspired four other students to request baptism, and they are currently studying with Rob Griffin, DAA Chaplain, towards that commitment.
Still on a spiritual high from the morning, students and guests gathered for the Sabbath evening Vespers, hosted by the DAA Music Department.  Featuring DAA's Choir, Bells, Band, and DAK, the groups performed a wide variety of hymns, African melodies, and praise songs.  Afterwards, the crowd filtered into the gymnasium for the Acrolights "Lighting Up Manhattan" show.  Set against a city skyline, the Acrolights performed both team and specialty routines, as well as humorous skits throughout the night.  Late into the night, the crowd enjoyed the breathtakingly high flips and astonishingly tall pyramids of the Acrolights.  Thank you to everyone who came to DAA to support our students!
